Come look inside me, and take a closer look at my world and at my country. In portraiture, more than in any other photographic style, I feel the urge to be a part of and to disturb the permanent state of suspension of the one being shot. The look and the expression that will remain when the shutter strikes, will tend to lead us to a dimension different than our own. We see ourselves in that atmosphere, as well as in the time and space that was photographed. We may have even been there, at the exact time the light crossed the film, but that’s no longer our time nor space. Looking at this frame, our dimension starts to blur, to darken, leading us to a new door where the light we see is a three-dimensional one. For a moment we are invited to live on the other side, live inside, and live along with the one being portrayed. This work aims to be a leading door to that ephemeral transition.
